I am Dr. Amanda Placeres and I am passionate about educating patients about alternative and complementary medicines to improve their quality of life. I truly believe in what we practice here at Placeres Integrative Medicine. I tell every single patient that walks in my door that my focus is to help them attain their health goals through diet and lifestyle first and foremost. Sometimes, diet and lifestyle need additional support to help patients establish a better foundation. This may mean incorporating herbal therapies and supplements when needed, with the goal of eventually reducing dependency on these things. I take the time to truly listen to my patients and understand their goals.
Naturopathic medicine can be an amazing standalone therapy for patients as well as in integrated therapy with conventional methods. I prioritize effective and safe therapies for patients and coordinate care with their Primary Care Physicians and Specialists when appropriate. The ideal healthcare model is one that does not separate Naturopathic Medicine and Allopathic Medicine but instead sees the benefit of the synergy of the two.
I do not like to guess. I take the time to understand what lifestyle, genetic and other factors may have contributed to their current state and how we can attempt to reverse what is reversible and improve the trajectory of their condition when it is not.
It is my goal to empower my patients to overcome their disease and not identify as it.
Outside of seeing patients and managing an integrative medical clinic, I enjoy yoga, running, the outdoors and spending time with my husband and sons. I may even be spotted tumbling in a gymnastics gym every now and then to relive my days as a young gymnast.

Hello! My name is Angel and I’m a Naturopathic Physician. I graduated with honors in Naturopathic Medicine from the University of Bridgeport. Before my doctorate, I completed my master’s coursework in Nutrition and Integrative Health at Maryland University of Integrative health.
I love my work because I love the diversity of roles I play: equal parts detective, scientist, philosopher, environmental advocate, counselor, and teacher. Getting to the cause is no simple feat, but as we peel back the layers of mixed, confusing messages about health, we get there. The guiding lamp on the journey is science and scholarship. My goal for every patient is to improve their quality of life. My work in medicine is not just about avoiding disease but about instilling the fundamental, science-backed principles for a healthy mind and body. I have a good track record with skin disorders, weight loss, and sleep issues.
When I’m not in the office, you’re likely to find me sitting cross legged on the living room floor, meditating, reading, meal planning or researching. I love spending time with my husband, making new friends on the dance floor, and connecting with my body through yin yoga. Hope to see you soon!

Hi, I’m Dr. Kaitlyn N. Staal, ND, MSAc. I have had the honor of training and experience in Integrative Oncology. I believe it is important to use specialized and conventional diagnostic testing as well as the more subtle observations of the mind, body, and spirit to help discover the underlying cause of any disease processes, so that they can be addressed safely and thoroughly to achieve optimal health and wholeness.
For many years now, I have gratefully practiced and observed that both science-based healing and the less understood modalities of energetically-based healing are equally profound and valid methods of rediscovering health. Perhaps it is that our current mainstream science simply does not yet have the tools to measure and objectively quantify the more energetic manipulations of the body. I see no disconnect between science and spirit-based medicine; I recognize that they are crucially linked to one another.
I focus on the scientific, functional, physiological, energetic, spiritual, and mental/emotional aspects of each being who seeks my counsel, and believe that every one of these aspects is an important piece of information for optimal healing. I strive to help people find significant connections, answers, and solutions for their medical and soul journeys.
When I am not wearing my Healer hat, you can find me in the herbal, flower, and food gardens, meditating, dancing, or snuggling with my pets at home with a yummy meal simmering in the kitchen.
